Bank Holiday February 2026: As we welcome 2026, everyone is focused on new financial plans and banking decisions . The annual bank holiday calendar is a crucial tool for effectively managing banking operations in India . The Reserve Bank of India ( RBI ) releases this calendar every year , providing detailed information about bank holidays throughout the year. Although in today’s article we will discuss how many days banks will be closed in the upcoming month, that is, in February.

All banks, whether public or private, are closed on certain national and regional holidays . Some holidays, such as Republic Day, Independence Day, and Gandhi Jayanti, are common across the country, but many festivals, such as Maha Shivaratri, Holi, Ugadi , Bakrid , Janmashtami , Diwali , and Christmas, vary by state and city . Therefore, it’s crucial to check your local holidays before carrying out any important banking work .

Bank Holidays January 2026

Banking services will not be available in Agartala, Bhubaneswar and Kolkata on January 23, 2026 , on account of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti and Basant Panchami.

Banks will remain completely closed in all states on the occasion of Republic Day on 26 January 2026 .

Banks closed for a total of 3 days in February

Banks will be closed in the Gangtok region on February 18, 2026, for Losar Day. Banks will be closed in the Belapur, Mumbai, and Nagpur regions on February 19, 2026, for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti. Banks will be closed in the Aizawl and Itanagar regions on February 20, 2026, for Statehood Day. Banks are also closed on Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.

In 2026, banks will also be closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month . Additionally, there will be additional non-working days in some weeks due to festivals and national holidays . Please note that online and digital banking services will remain operational despite the holidays, allowing for seamless transactions .
