The Haryana government has also introduced a similar initiative called ‘Aapki Beti Hamari Beti Yojana’. This program provides financial aid of Rs 21,000 from the state government after the birth of a daughter.
The Haryana government initiated the “Aapki Beti Hamari Beti” scheme in 2015. This program is overseen by the Ministry of Women and Child Development. Under this scheme, a financial assistance of Rs 21,000 is granted upon the birth of a girl child. The primary goals of this initiative are to prevent female foeticide, promote education for girls, and improve the sex ratio.
Understanding who benefits from the Your Daughter Our Daughter scheme
The Your Daughter, Our Daughter scheme is designed for girls born into Scheduled Caste and Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. Additionally, families from any category can receive benefits upon the birth of a second daughter. The ₹21,000 can be accessed when the daughter reaches the age of 18.
Required documents for the scheme
To apply for the Your Daughter, Our Daughter scheme, a birth certificate for the daughter is necessary. Moreover, a residence certificate, vaccination card, BPL ration card, income certificate, caste certificate, and the Aadhaar numbers of the parents are also required.
How to apply online?
1. First of all you have to visit the official website www.wcdhry.gov.in.
2. Now click on the option of plans for children.
3. You will have to click on the link of Your Daughter Our Daughter Scheme.
4. After clicking, the form related to the scheme will appear in front of you, download it.
5. After entering all the correct information in this form, submit it to your nearest Anganwadi centre.
