Pakistan cricket team recently whitewashed Sri Lanka 3-0 in the ODI series. In the second match of this series, Pakistan’s star batsman scored a brilliant century. He played an unbeaten inning of 102 runs. It was after a long time that he scored a century. However, in the third and final ODI of the series, Babar Azam could not maintain his momentum and was out after scoring only 34 runs. Now the Pakistan team is ready to face Zimbabwe in the T20I tri-series. Before this match, bad news has come for Babar Azam. Babar Azam has been given a severe punishment.

Babur was punished for this reason

Babar Azam has been fined 10% of his match fee for violating Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct. The penalty was imposed for his actions after being dismissed in the third ODI. After being dismissed in the 21st over of Pakistan’s innings, he struck the stumps with his bat, prompting the ICC to take this significant action against him.

The 31-year-old Pakistani batsman has been found guilty of breaching Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to misuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during an international match. Furthermore, one demerit point has been added to his disciplinary record, making this Babar’s first offence in a 24-month period.

Babar confessed his mistake

Babar admitted his offense and accepted the fine, thus avoiding the need for a formal hearing. The minimum penalty for a Level 1 violation is an official reprimand, and the maximum penalty is 50 percent of a player’s match fee and one or two demerit points.

Babar Azam, who scored 165 runs in the ODI series, including a century, is now ready to shine in the T20I tri-series. He recently made a long-awaited return to T20I cricket in the series against South Africa.
