The ICC has updated the ODI rankings as of January 18th. After the third match between India and New Zealand, Team India’s ranking has dropped to 119th. Before the series began, i.e., on January 11th, India’s rating was 121, but it has now dropped. Losing two matches has resulted in a loss of two rating points for the Indian team. New Zealand, on the other hand, was ranked 113th before the series began, but has now risen to 114th.

New Zealand may not have benefited significantly from winning the series, but the rating gap between India and New Zealand is now only 5 points. It’s a good thing that the ICC T20 World Cup will begin next month, otherwise, if there were more ODI matches, Team India might have dropped here as well. India’s rating will remain unchanged for now. Team India will now tour England in July, where three ODIs will be played. Only after that will the rating increase or decrease.
