Which team Sanju Samson will play for in IPL 2026 remains a major question. According to media reports, a deal for Samson’s trade between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals was nearly finalized. Speculation that Ravindra Jadeja would be traded to Rajasthan Royals in Samson’s place had gained momentum recently. Now, reports suggest that RR management is not happy with trading just one player in place of Samson.
Where Sanju Samson will finally join
According to a recently published media report, Sanju Samson and Ravindra Jadeja were retained by Rajasthan and Chennai respectively in the 18 crore rupees slot last season. The deals should have been finalized by now, but Rajasthan Royals management is unwilling to directly swap players. Rajasthan wants CSK to exchange Ravindra Jadeja and another player for Samson.
Rajasthan Royals wants Ravindra Jadeja
Rajasthan management wants Ravindra Jadeja and Dewald Brevis in exchange for Sanju Samson. Brevis, the fearsome South African batsman, joined Chennai Super Kings last year. CSK officials, on the other hand, only want to trade Jadeja, and as for trading another player alongside Jadeja, CSK specifically doesn’t want to trade Brevis at all. According to reports, RR franchise officials have also contacted several other teams, including Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Lucknow Super Giants.
If Chennai Super Kings are set to release Ravindra Jadeja, which would be a significant trade in itself. Jadeja is one of the most successful and legendary all-rounders in IPL history. In his IPL career, he has scored 3,260 runs and taken 170 wickets.
On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad has not shown much interest in Sanju Samson, because SRH already has 3 good options for opening batting.
