Afghanistan’s star cricketer Mohammad Nabi is currently playing in the Bangladesh Premier League. He was in the news for batting with his 19-year-old son, Hasan Isakhil. This is the first father-son pair in cricket history to play together. Nabi and his son, Hasan, are both part of the Noakhali Express team in the BPL.
Following this historic achievement, Mohammad Nabi became enraged at a question about Mustafizur Rahman, and his anger was captured on camera. Mohammad Nabi was questioned about the BCCI’s decision to remove Mustafizur Rahman from the IPL. He was asked whether what happened to Mustafizur Rahman was right. Upon hearing this from the journalist, Mohammad Nabi became furious and gave a blunt reply.
He angrily said, “What does this question have to do with me? What do I have to do with Mustafizur Rahman? This question doesn’t concern me, so why should I answer it?” BCCI decided to exclude Mustafizur Rahman from the IPL in protest of the killings of Hindus in Bangladesh. Following this action by the BCCI, the BCB appealed to the ICC to not play the T20 World Cup 2026 in India, which was rejected.
Bangladesh wanted its matches shifted from India to Sri Lanka, the tournament’s second host. However, the ICC stated that it would have to play its matches as scheduled.

However, according to a recent report from Cricbuzz, Bangladesh’s T20 World Cup matches will be relocated, but not to Sri Lanka. They could be relocated from Kolkata and Mumbai to Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram.
Nabi made headlines when he batted with his son in a match against the Dhaka Capitals on January 11. During his 17-run innings, Nabi shared a 53-run partnership for the fourth wicket with his son Hasan, setting a new record for the highest partnership for that wicket in T20 cricket for the Noakhali Express.
