A good news for the common people of Madhya Pradesh. Lakhs of new name has been registered in list of ration cards. This is not less than a gift for those who are looking for support in their households.

After a full year, the process of issuing new ration cards has begun in Madhya Pradesh. The names of approximately 800,000 people who had already applied to add their names to ration cards have been added to the eligibility list. Approximately 700,000 more names may be added, for which the application and verification process is ongoing.

Here is the latest update

According to the Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department, the central government has set a ration quota for 54.6 million people in the state. Under this quota, over 2.91 lakh metric tons of food grains are allocated. This quota for the state had been reached, resulting in the inability to add new eligible individuals. Consequently, the department launched a special survey campaign in all districts of the state.

This survey revealed that 1.5 million people no longer reside at their current address or district and have moved elsewhere, but their names remain. There were also some who had died but their names had not been removed. Following the survey, the department has removed the names of 1.5 million such people since January.

This has created space for people applying for new ration cards. The process of creating new ration cards has since begun, with the process of issuing eligibility slips to individuals after completing e-KYC. This time, applications received for new ration cards are being scrutinized thoroughly. It has been stated that eligibility slips will be issued to those who complete e-KYC. Eligibility and ineligibility are being verified during e-KYC. The government has made the process of enrolling people living below the poverty line to receive government rations completely online. Anyone who meets the eligibility criteria can apply by visiting a facilitation center and submitting their application documents.
