Both batsmen were playing cautiously when Mohammed Siraj, who came on to bowl the eighth over of the innings, broke Chanderpaul’s patience. On the second ball of the over, the Caribbean batsman attempted a pull shot off Siraj’s short ball to the left of square leg. Nitish Kumar Reddy, stationed there, surprised everyone by taking a long leap to his left. The 22-year-old all-rounder caught the ball mid-air, forcing Chanderpaul to leave the pavilion.
West Indies lost the match without making any significant resistance
The West Indies team has high hopes for Chanderpaul on their tour of India. However, he flopped badly in the first Test. Opening the innings in the first innings, Chanderpaul faced just 11 balls and failed to open his account. Mohammed Siraj dismissed him, caught by Dhruv Jurel.

After a disastrous first innings, the team expected a strong performance from him in the second. However, he failed to shine even here. Opening the innings, he faced a total of 23 balls and managed only eight runs, including a four.
