Ration Card– Big news for Dation Card holders. Despite repeated warnings, approximately 191,251 people have not yet completed their e-KYC. Therefore, they have been given three months’ time. They will receive rations only if they complete the e-KYC process within this period; those who fail to do so will be removed from the list.

At present, cardholders can get e-KYC done at fair price shops. There are 15,53,402 units in the district. Free ration is distributed to them every month. E-KYC has been made mandatory for all names listed on ration cards. This system was implemented to identify fake beneficiaries. After this, people started gathering at centers to get their Aadhaar cards amended for KYC. The Supply Department also made it a point to raise awareness among cardholders and assigned the responsibility of getting e-KYC done to ration dealers.

Even after this, e-KYC of 100% card holders could not be done. Till now e-KYC of 13,62,151 has been done. Ration of the remaining people has been stopped. Ration allocation has been stopped from September. Now ration will be given only after getting e-KYC done. Tilak Ram Yadav, fair price seller of Gaura Trikaulia, said that they are contacting door to door for e-KYC. Along with this, they are also making people aware. There are a total of 674 card holders. Out of this, e-KYC of 90 percent has been done. It is being done for the remaining.

Kumar Nirmalendu, District Supply Officer says, who haven’t completed their e-KYC have been denied ration. They will be made to wait for three months. They will begin receiving rations the following month after their e-KYC is completed. If they don’t complete it within three months, their names will be removed from the system. Only those who completed their e-KYC in August will receive rations in September. Everyone has been urged to complete their e-KYC on time. –
