Ford Ranger first seen
The Ford Ranger is the smallest pickup truck in the manufacturer’s lineup. It also shares the base with the Endeavor SUV. It is not yet clear what Everest and Ranger are doing in Chennai. However, interestingly, the Ford India plant is on the outskirts of Chennai, so it is likely that both the vehicles will be headed to the plant
Popular in global market
This pick-up truck of the company is quite popular in the global market, but people usually choose it as a secondary vehicle. There are some small pick-up trucks like Volkswagen Amarok and Ford Ranger in the global market and now Kia has announced that they are also bringing a pick-up truck soon. Variants and engine options
Ford Ranger has been introduced in the global market with three engine options. There is a 2.3-litre EcoBoost, 2.7-litre EcoBoost and 3.0-litre EcoBoost. The 2.3-litre unit produces 266 bhp of maximum power and 420 Nm of peak torque. Then there is the 3.0-litre unit, which is rated for 399 bhp and 583 Nm. Ford offers the Ranger in four models – XL, XLT, Lariat and Raptor
