Another amazing display from young Rajasthan Royals player Vaibhav Sooryavanshi showed why he’s being touted as one of Indian cricket’s greatest talents. The 15-year-old played an incredible innings of 96 from 47 balls against Gujarat Titans in the high-stakes IPL 2026 Qualifier 2.
Although Rajasthan Royals could not manage to win the match, Vaibhav’s courageous knock was the main talk among fans and experts.

The knock was made even more special because of the situation Rajasthan Royals were in. While chasing a huge target, RR were 9/2 after a fiery spell from Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada at the start of the innings.
Instead of playing his usual attacking style of cricket, Vaibhav played with remarkable composure and patience. He handled the movement wisely at the beginning and survived many close calls, rebuilding the innings gradually.
He announced his arrival with a towering six over long on, dispatching Rabada straight down the ground.

Rabada’s Bouncer Sparks Brutal Counterattack
Soon, Gujarat Titans resorted to a short-ball strategy to trouble the youngster. Sharp bouncer from Rabada struck Sooryavanshi on the helmet while he was batting on 56.
But the young batter’s response was sensational.
After getting hit by the bouncer, Vaibhav switched gears completely, hitting 39 runs from the next 14 balls. Boundaries and sixes were struck consistently as he continued to attack the Gujarat bowlers and got the crowd on their feet.
He ended up scoring 96 runs from just 47 deliveries, falling agonizingly short of a century.
Ian Bishop Reveals Secret Behind Vaibhav’s Fearlessness
Commentating on the match, former West Indies quick bowler Ian Bishop lauded the teenager. He mentioned that Vaibhav regularly faces Rajasthan Royals’ fast bowler Jofra Archer in the nets.
As per Ian Bishop, most batters like to face mild pace at the nets but Vaibhav enjoys the challenge and faces Jofra Archer at full pace, to improve his skills. This preparation seemed to have paid off well in the IPL 2026 as the youngster never looked out of place facing some of the world’s fastest bowlers.
Fans Hail Future Indian Superstar
Social media buzzed after Vaibhav’s brilliant innings, with fans all over the world calling him the future of Indian cricket. The 15-year-old showed incredible composure, power and temperament even in a high-pressure game.
His fearless knock of 96 runs may have gone in vain and not managed to take Rajasthan Royals to the final, but his reputation as one of the most exciting young cricketers in the world is already firmly established.
