Tilak Varma took this brilliant catch on the boundary line in the fifth over of Australia’s innings, when Varun Chakravarthy dismissed Travis Head for 28. Head tried to hit the ball over long-off. The ball was going straight for a six, but Tilak Varma converted it into a catch. As he took the catch, Varma lost his balance and started going out of the boundary. He regained his composure, tossing the ball in the air, then returned to the line and completed the catch.

Tilak Varma’s catch reminded people of Suryakumar Yadav’s famous catch in the 2024 World Cup final, when he dismissed David Miller. India was defending 176 runs at the time. Surya’s remarkable catch turned the game around, helping Team India defeat South Africa.

Easy win for Australia

Tilak Verma took a brilliant catch, but while batting he was out early without scoring any runs. Australia’s Josh Hazlewood bowled brilliantly and dismissed India’s top batsmen early on. His economical bowling of 3 wickets and 15 dot balls put the Indian team under pressure.

Australia easily won this match by four wickets. India could not even play the full 20 overs. The entire Indian team was all out for 125 runs in 18.4 overs. India gave Australia a target of 126 runs.
