After the match, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav attributed the victory to his team’s smart play. Surya said after the match, “I think the batsmen deserve credit for this win. Shubman and Abhishek started sensibly. They knew this wasn’t a 200 or 220 wicket, so they played according to the conditions. All the batsmen in the team contributed well.” He further added, “Both Gautam Gambhir (coach) and I want the bowlers to be aggressive. There wasn’t much dew on the field, but our bowlers adapted quickly. Shivam Dubey took two wickets and Washington Sundar took three. Having bowlers in the team who can bowl a few overs is always beneficial. This is a good combination for the team.”
