Indian cricket team all-rounder Axar Patel has been ruled out of the remaining two matches of the T20 series against South Africa due to illness. However, Axar is with the team in Lucknow, where he will undergo a medical checkup.

The men’s selection committee has named Shahbaz Ahmed as his replacement for the T20 matches to be held in Lucknow and Ahmedabad. India won the first match of the series against South Africa in Cuttack by 101 runs. In that match, the hosts scored 175 runs for the loss of 6 wickets and then bowled out the visiting team for 74 runs in 12.3 overs.
In the next match, South Africa scored 213 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their allotted 20 overs, but Team India was bowled out for just 162 runs in 19.1 overs. With this, South Africa won the match by 51 runs and leveled the series 1-1. The third match of the series was played in Dharamsala, where India won by 7 wickets and took a 2-1 lead in the series. After bowling out South Africa for 117 runs, India won the match in 15.5 overs.
After losing the Test series 0-2, Team India won the three-match ODI series against South Africa 2-1. India now focuses on the T20 series. The fourth match of the series between India and South Africa will be played in Lucknow on December 17th, while the final match of the series will be held in Ahmedabad on December 19th.
