How is Shakarkand Chaat made?

1- First, wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly and boil them in water. They can be easily boiled in a pressure cooker.

2- Now you’ll need to make the chaat masala, for which you’ll need to thinly slice one onion lengthwise. Slice one tomato thinly and lengthwise as well, then finely chop two green chillies. After that, lightly roast whole coriander seeds and cumin seeds in a pan.

3- Now, in a bowl, cut the boiled sweet potatoes into thin, round slices without peeling them. Then, in a pan, lightly roast the whole coriander seeds and cumin seeds.

4- Next, slice the boiled sweet potatoes into thin, round pieces without peeling them. Then add finely chopped onion, green chillies, and tomatoes. Finally, sprinkle the ground coriander and cumin powder over the top.

5- Then add half a teaspoon of chaat masala and salt. Next, sprinkle finely chopped coriander leaves and squeeze half a lemon over it. After that, add tamarind chutney and red chilli powder. Then mix all the ingredients well.
