But have you ever thought that this wonderful Paneer Tikka can also be made into a great vegetable? Yes! Paneer Tikka Masala is a dish renowned for its smoky and spicy flavour. It tastes delicious when eaten with roti, naan, or paratha. Today, we’re sharing an easy and tasty recipe for restaurant-style Paneer Tikka Masala that everyone will enjoy.

Ingredients for marinating paneer:

Paneer: 400 grams, cut into square pieces

Vegetables: 1 medium onion, one capsicum, and one tomato (all cut into square pieces)

Curd: 1 cup (thick)

Spices: 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder, 1 tsp chaat masala, 1 tsp garam masala, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1/2 tsp turmeric

Gram flour: 2 tbsp

Paste: 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste

For flavour: 1 tsp kasuri methi

Oil and salt: Mustard oil and salt to taste

Ingredients for making vegetable gravy:

Onion-tomato: 2-3 medium onions, two medium tomatoes (finely chopped)

Oil and butter: 2 tbsp oil and 2-3 tbsp butter

Whole spices: 1 tsp cumin seeds, one cinnamon stick, 1-2 circles Flowers, two big cardamoms

Ginger-garlic-chilli: 1 tbsp garlic, 1 tsp green chillies

Puree: 1 cup tomato puree

Powdered spices: 1 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp garam masala

Garnish: 1 tbsp fresh cream and some kasuri methi

Salt: as per taste

Method of preparation:

1. Marinate the paneer:

First, mix the curd and all the spices (Kashmiri red chilli, chaat masala, garam masala, coriander powder, and turmeric) well in a large vessel. Add gram flour, ginger-garlic paste, kasuri methi, salt and a little mustard oil to it and make a thick paste. Now add pieces of paneer, onion, capsicum and tomato and mix well so that the spices are applied on all. Keep it aside for at least 15-20 minutes.

2. Sauté the paneer:

Heat some oil in a pan and sauté the marinated paneer and vegetables till they turn light golden. Keep in mind, do not overcook them, they should get a little colour. After sautéing, transfer them to a plate.

3. Prepare the gravy:

Now, heat oil and butter in the same pan. Add cumin seeds, cinnamon, star anise and black cardamom and sauté for a minute. Now, add finely chopped onions and tomatoes, and sauté until they turn golden. After this, add tomato puree, coriander powder, red chilli powder, garam masala and salt and mix well. Cover it and cook on a low flame till the oil starts separating.

4. Finalise the sabzi:

Add some water as per requirement to the gravy and bring it to a boil. Now add pre-sautéed paneer and vegetables to it. Mix well and cook on a low flame for 2-3 minutes. Finally, add fresh cream and kasuri methi on top and mix well. Your delicious paneer tikka masala is ready! Serve it with hot roti, naan, or paratha and delight your family.
