New Delhi: In the Bihar elections, all of Prashant Kumar’s candidates, who ran alongside the Grand Alliance and on the Jan Suraj banner, suffered a crushing defeat. Except for two of his candidates, all their deposits were forfeited. His initial poor performance has now sparked speculation about his future.
Prashant Kishore has issued a significant statement on this crushing defeat. He stated that something went wrong in the election. He also admitted that he lacked evidence of any wrongdoing. He claimed that the voting results did not match the public response on the ground. He also accused the government of influencing the vote by transferring ₹10,000 each to women’s accounts in the final days.
The issue of Jungle Raj benefited the NDA.
Prashant Kishore, founder of Jan Suraj, has openly expressed his views. He stated that something incomprehensible happened during the election process. Many statistics and voting patterns did not match actual feedback.
Explaining his defeat, he said that the primary factor was that, for the first time in election history, money was sent to 50,000 women (Jeevika Didi Yojana) just before voting. The second factor was the Lalu factor, a fear of Lalu Prasad Yadav and the return of Jungle Raj.
Before the election, people had estimated that Jan Suraj might get 10 to 20 per cent of the vote, but by the end, people began to feel that Jan Suraj was not winning. And they might go to vote for you, and Jungle Raj will return. This has certainly led some people to distance themselves from us. Prashant Kishor said this to Preeti Chaudhary, Managing Editor of India Today TV.
Prashant Kishor Out at Zero
Prashant Kishor, who had claimed that the Jan Suraj Party would form a government during the Bihar elections, performed poorly. His party failed to win any assembly seats. Only two candidates managed to save their deposits. Even PK could hardly have expected such a poor performance. The NDA performed resoundingly, winning 202 seats. The Grand Alliance performed very poorly.
