New Delhi: US President Donald Trump has softened his stance against India on tariff policy. The US has announced a significant tariff reduction for India. The tariff has been reduced to 18 per cent from the previous 25 per cent. This means that a total tariff of only 1 per cent will be levied on imports from India to the US.

This will increase imports from India. US President Donald Trump himself shared this information via social media. Once again, Donald Trump referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as his friend. He said that they discussed several issues over the phone, including trade and ending the war between Russia and Ukraine. US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, also expressed his happiness about this agreement.

Donald Trump claimed in his post that India will soon stop buying oil from Russia. They agreed to buy more oil from the US and possibly Venezuela. This will help end the ongoing war in Ukraine, where thousands of people are being killed every week.
