Delhi’s Weather Today
The weather in the national capital, Delhi, is expected to remain pleasant today. On May 5, the skies over Delhi are likely to remain overcast. According to the Meteorological Department, light drizzle may occur in several areas of the capital. Additionally, Delhi’s maximum temperature today is expected to hover around 33°C, while the minimum temperature is likely to be around 23°C. Winds with speeds ranging from 15 to 20 kmph may also blow across the region.
Warning of Heavy Rainfall in UP and Bihar
In Uttar Pradesh, squalls gusting up to 50 kmph have been forecast for the cities of Meerut, Kanpur, Varanasi, and Prayagraj. An alert for moderate to heavy rainfall has been issued for these regions. Meanwhile, in Bihar, an alert has been issued for several districts—including Patna, Gaya, and Bhagalpur—anticipating rain accompanied by lightning.

In Jammu & Kashmir–Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh, weather conditions are expected to persist in this manner until May 6; light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and snowfall in some isolated areas, is likely. During this period, there is also a possibility of strong winds reaching 30–50 km per hour. In Uttarakhand, this weather pattern is expected to continue until May 8.
Weather Outlook for Northeast and East India
The Meteorological Department forecasts that Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura may experience rain and gusty winds between May 4 and May 6.
Additionally, an alert for hailstorms and heavy rainfall has been issued for Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha for May 5.
Weather Conditions in Central and South India
Central India: An alert regarding rain and thunderstorms has been issued for Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh for the period between May 5 and May 8. Furthermore, the Meteorological Department predicts heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, and Kerala over the next five days. Alerts for storms and hailstorms have also been issued for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for May 5.
