On this day (February 1), Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in the budget announcement that the National Fiber Scheme will be launched in the country, which will work on products like silk, wool, jute. Man-made fiber and new age fiber will also be included. There will be a big change in the country’s textile industry.
Various industries are spread in every corner of India. Special emphasis has been given to handicrafts in this budget. Special importance has been given to National Handloom and Handicraft. The Finance Minister said that work will be done with industries and educational institutions in textile or cloth production under ‘Samartha 2.0’. A mega textile hub will be created in the country.

The Finance Minister said that a new National Fiber Scheme (Mahatma Gandhi Gram Swaraj Initiative) will be launched in the country. This scheme will include natural fibers like silk, wool, jute as well as man-made and new types of fibers (New Age Fiber).
