Lakhimpur Kheri Accident: Heartbreaking news emerged late Tuesday night (November 25) in Lakhimpur Kheri district, Uttar Pradesh. A speeding Alto car lost control and plunged into the Sharda Canal on the Dhakherwa-Girjapuri Highway. Five people died on the spot, while the young man driving the vehicle was seriously injured.

According to reports, all the deceased and injured were residents of the same village and were returning from a wedding. The accident reportedly occurred late at night. Due to darkness and high speed, the driver lost control of the car, which plunged directly into the canal.

According to reports, the seriously injured driver was rescued and hospitalised. The accident occurred around 12 a.m. near the Sharda Siphon, located before the Girjapuri Barrage in the Padhua police station area.

How did the accident happen?

Padhua police station in-charge Abhishek Singh stated that the car’s occupants were returning to Bahraich district after attending a wedding in Lakhimpur. Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver, Bablu, son of Rajesh, fell asleep at the wheel, causing the vehicle to lose control and plunge into a siphon. Five people died on the spot.

Upon receiving information about the accident, the charge station, Abhishek Singh, arrived at the scene with his team, and a rescue operation was immediately launched. Police rescued the seriously injured driver, Bablu, who is reported to be out of danger. The other five people in the car drowned on the spot. The five deceased, Jitendra, Ghanshyam, Lalji, Azimullah, and Surendra Vishusokha, were residents of the Sujauli police station area of ​​Bahraich district.
