Where can you book the helicopter service?
To book, simply visit the official IRCTC website at heliyatra.irctc.co.in.
Navigate to the ‘Shri Kedarnath Dham’ section and click on ‘Book Ticket’ below.
You can then reserve your helicopter service by entering your details.
When will tickets be available?
Helicopter bookings have commenced for the first phase.
Tickets will be available from April 22, 2026, to June 15, 2026. The helicopter service will also begin on April 22, 2026.
From which locations can you access the service?
Helicopter service will be offered from just three locations:
The first is Guptkashi.
The second is Fata.
The third is Sirsi.
What are the fares for the helicopter service?
From Guptkashi to Kedarnath:
The round trip fare for this roughly 10-minute journey is Rs 12,762. The round trip fare from Phata to Kedarnath is Rs 10,164 for this approximately 7-minute route. The round trip fare from Sirsi to Kedarnath is Rs 6,390 for this roughly 6-minute journey.
Millions of Hindus hold unwavering faith in the Kedarnath Temple. Every year, a large number of devotees visit the Kedarnath Dham. After a very arduous journey, devotees reach the doorstep of Baba Kedar. Kedarnath is the highest of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. This holy shrine is an important part of the ‘Chhota Char Dham’ pilgrimage in Uttarakhand. The other three shrines include Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.
The Kedarnath Temple is closed during the winter season, and no pilgrimage is conducted during this period. The doors of the Kedarnath Temple are reopened for devotees after six months. The wait for devotees awaiting Kedarnath Darshan is about to end, as the doors of the Kedarnath Temple will soon open. With this, the journey to the Kedarnath Dham will begin.
This year the doors of Kedarnath temple will open on 22 April 2026. The Panchmukhi Doli of Lord Kedarnath reaches the Dham by foot from its winter residence Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath. The doors of Kedarnath temple will be opened for the devotees on 22 April in the morning with the chanting of Vedic mantras. Last year i.e. in 2025, the doors of Kedarnath temple were opened on 2 May. After six months of darshan-puja, the doors of the temple were closed on 23 October 2025. According to religious beliefs, the devotees visiting Kedarnath Dham receive special blessings of Lord Shiva and all their wishes are fulfilled
