Monsoon Alert – Cyclone Senyar has weakened considerably in the Bay of Bengal, but a new storm appears to be brewing. Several states have been advised to exercise caution due to the new storm. Storms and rain could prove fatal for the public. High waves and torrential rain are also possible.
In addition, dense fog has blanketed parts of North India, while snow blankets the ground elsewhere. The white snow in the valleys of Kashmir has created a chilling atmosphere. People are leaving their homes even during the day, covering themselves with blankets. Himachal Pradesh is also experiencing severe cold.
Dense fog enveloped Uttar Pradesh, Delhi NCR, and Bihar early in the morning, causing difficulties for motorists. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain accompanied by storms in several states.

According to the Meteorological Department, Cyclone Detwa is developing, which could bring disaster to several states. According to the IMD, a warning of torrential rain has been issued for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and South Andhra Pradesh by the end of this week. Along with heavy rain, winds of up to 80 to 90 kilometres per hour are also expected.
High waves are also expected in the sea. Officials believe the storm is expected to move almost parallel to the coast of Sri Lanka and will only reach the coasts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry by November 29th.
Caution has been urged for the public in view of the storm. Heavy rain alerts have been issued in several areas of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the coming days. Officials have asked fishermen to leave the sea.
Cold and Fog Alert
According to the IMD, temperatures are continuously falling in North India. Delhi and its surrounding states may experience a major change in the weather. The IMD has also issued an alert for severe fog. There is little hope of Delhi and NCR getting relief from the toxic air.
Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Chandigarh may be gripped by dense fog on December 1. A cold wave is expected in Punjab on November 28 and 29. A cold wave warning has been issued for all of Rajasthan between December 3 and 4.
