Bihar Election 2025 – Voters have been enthusiastic since morning in the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections. According to the Election Commission report, 64.69% voter turnout broke all records in Bihar’s history. This is a significant increase compared to 2020.
Some experts attribute this to the participation of migrants and voters who have after a special, thorough review. After voting in 121 seats, all political parties are claiming their respective government positions.
A neck-to-neck fight was witnessed between the NDA and the Grand Alliance in all seats. The Jan Suraj Party is also expected to perform well in some seats. After the voting, Tejashwi Yadav, the Chief Ministerial candidate from the Grand Alliance, expressed his gratitude for participating enthusiastically in Bihar’s festival of democracy.
Who prevailed in the first phase?
Elections for the 121 assembly seats concluded amid sporadic altercations, but a new debate has erupted among party workers and supporters. Leaders of the NDA and the Grand Alliance are busy with their respective calculations. According to some political experts, anti-incumbency has not been evident in Bihar after 20 years of Nitish Kumar’s rule.
In many places, people were seen calling for change, but they were not loudly criticising Nitish Kumar’s rule. Many people, while leaving polling booths, praised the Nitish government, but also expressed a desire for change after two years.
Political experts believe that if the NDA government is formed, women could play a significant role in it. The government deposited ₹10,000 each into women’s accounts just before the elections, which was widely discussed on the ground.
When will the second phase of voting take place?
After the first phase, all prominent leaders are now focused on 122 seats. Voting will take place in the second phase. Leaders’ helicopters in the sky and public meetings and road shows on the ground have increased the political heat. All political parties are making every effort for the final phase.
On behalf of the NDA, PM Narendra Modi, CM Nitish Kumar, and Home Minister Amit Shah are personally leading the charge. On behalf of the Grand Alliance, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, former Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav, and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav are continuously holding public rallies to solicit votes.
