A safety feature that gives your WhatsApp account an additional degree of protection is two-step verification. The app will request a six-digit PIN that you have already created whenever you register your WhatsApp number on a different device. It works similarly to a password, and even if someone were to obtain your SIM card, they would still be unable to access your WhatsApp account without it.
How can two-step verification be allowed?
Setting two-step verification in the app is a relatively simple process. Take the actions stated here.
Open WhatsApp on your phone first.
The ‘Settings’ option will then appear in the lower right corner of the app (on an iPhone) or, on an Android device, by pressing the three dots in the upper right corner.
You must then select ‘Account’ from the options menu.
Select “Two-step verification” now.
After that, select “Enable” and enter a six-digit PIN. When you sign in to your account on a new device, you will be asked for this PIN.
In order to reset the PIN in the event that you forget it, you will then be prompted for your email address. If it is not required, you must do this.
Your two-step verification setup is finished once you have verified the email and PIN.
