New Telecom Safety Feature: BSNL Kavach Number Protects Women from Unwanted Calls, Check Features

BSNL Kavach Number for Women’s Privacy: In this era of Digital India, keeping women’s safety and privacy paramount, state-owned telecom company BSNL has launched a revolutionary service called the “Kavach Number.”

This special launch provides women with a 10-digit alternate or temporary number that they can use to conceal their identity. Sharing one’s personal mobile number at physical stores can often feel unsafe, but now, with the “Kavach Number,” women can recharge without hesitation without revealing their real number.

What is the BSNL Kavach Number

BSNL’s Kavach Number service acts as a strong barrier to privacy. When a female customer activates this service, she is allotted a second 10-digit temporary number linked to her primary number. Suppose you need to recharge at an unknown store or give your number somewhere you’re not comfortable, you can share this Kavach number instead of your real number.

Interestingly, when the store recharges with this temporary number, the talktime or data will be directly credited to your primary number. However, for security reasons, this number will not receive any calls or send any messages, as it only serves as a dummy number for transaction and recharge purposes.

Complete Process to Activate a Kavach Number

This special service from BSNL is currently not available on the company’s official website or its SelfCare app. To activate it, you’ll need to follow a fairly simple manual process. First, you need to call the toll-free number 1800 180 1503 from the BSNL number you want to use. Once the call is connected, follow the IVR instructions and choose to speak to a customer care executive.

The officer may ask you for some basic information, such as your service area and PIN code, to confirm your location. Once all the information is verified, the customer care officer will send an SMS to your number containing your new 10-digit Kavach number. You can now use this number wherever you wish to keep your real mobile number confidential.

Why is it important for women’s safety

Data privacy has become a serious issue these days, and many women still prefer to recharge their data from physical stores rather than through online apps. Consequently, the risk of unwanted calls or cyberbullying remains if their personal mobile number becomes available to strangers.

BSNL’s Kavach number service eliminates this risk by giving women the freedom to access all telecom services without revealing their personal information. It is a perfect blend of technology and security, giving women the confidence to protect their identity without fear in the digital world.
