Dharmendra Property Dispute – Dharmendra, one of Bollywood’s most celebrated stars, passed away on 24 November 2025 at the age of 89, leaving the entire film industry in grief. But along with mourning, a significant question has begun to surface: who will inherit Dharmendra’s massive wealth, estimated at between ₹400 crore and ₹450 crore? Here’s a detailed breakdown of everything we know.

Dharmendra Leaves Behind a Massive Wealth Portfolio

According to reports, the late actor accumulated wealth not just from films but also from brand endorsements and multiple business investments. Dharmendra owned a luxurious bungalow in Mumbai along with sprawling farmhouses in Khandala and Lonavala—properties where he spent most of his time.

Few people know that Dharmendra had also invested in the food business. His restaurant chain “Garam Dharam” operates in several cities across India and is one of his most successful ventures.

Two Marriages and Six Children: Dharmendra’s Family Structure

  1. Dharmendra’s personal life has always drawn attention because of his two marriages.
  2. His first wife, Prakash Kaur, is the mother of his four children—Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Ajeeta Deol, and Vijeta Deol.
  3. Later, Dharmendra married actress Hema Malini, and the couple has two daughters—Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.
  4. With such a large family, the inheritance division becomes even more significant and legally complex.

What the Law Says About Second Marriages and Inheritance Rights?

Delhi High Court advocate Kamlesh Kumar Mishra, in a conversation with ABP News, explained the legal position.
If a person’s second marriage is considered invalid under the Hindu Marriage Act, the marriage itself may not hold legal recognition. However, children born of such a marriage are legally legitimate.

This legitimacy grants these children full rights over their parents’ self-earned property—but not over ancestral property.

How Dharmendra’s Wealth Will Be Divided Among His Heirs?

To put it simply, after Dharmendra’s death, the law considers that the ancestral share he owned has already been divided. Whatever portion of the property stood in his name will now be equally divided among all his legal heirs.

This means Dharmendra’s six children—four from his first marriage and two from his second—will receive equal shares of his wealth, estimated at ₹400–450 crore.

Will Hema Malini Receive Any Share of Dharmendra’s Property?

Based on legal interpretation, Hema Malini will not receive a share of Dharmendra’s self-acquired property if their marriage is treated as invalid under the Hindu Marriage Act.
Only the children from the second marriage are legally entitled to inherit from him—not Hema Malini herself.

Equal Rights for All Six Children

As per the legal structure, Dharmendra’s entire wealth will be distributed equally among Sunny, Bobby, Ajeeta, Vijeta, Esha, and Ahana.

The actor’s legacy, both emotional and financial, is thus set to be carried forward by all six of his children, regardless of the complexities surrounding his marriages.
