Maharashtra Board SSC 2026 – Class 10 Exams to Begin on February 20, Over 1.6 Million Students to Appear

Maharashtra Board SSC 2026: The Class 10 SSC exams, conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE), are scheduled to begin on February 20, 2026. This year, approximately 1.615 million students have registered for the exam. The exams will be held during February and March under the nine divisional boards of the state, including Pune, Nagpur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Amravati, Nashik, Latur, and Konkan. The board has completed extensive preparations to ensure a peaceful and orderly conduct of the exam.

Exams to be held at so many centers

According to State Board Secretary Dr. Deepak Mali, 23,683 schools have completed the registration process for the exam. The SSC Class 10 exams will be held at 5,119 exam centers across the state of Maharashtra. To conduct the examination, 1,004 examination center heads, 800 sub-center heads, 13,937 supervisors, 71 invigilators, and 1,004 runners have been appointed. Additionally, 21 flying squads and 8 stationary squads have been formed. One center has been designated as sensitive, while five centers have been declared closed.

Exam Key Information

This year, the examination application process was completed online through the UDISE+ database. Applications were accepted until February 10, 2026. The Board has prepared the examination schedule with the core subjects in mind, aiming to avoid unnecessary pressure on students. The official datesheet was released on October 15, 2025.

Counselors Appointed

Prioritizing the mental health of students, the Board has appointed 20 counselors. Helplines have also been made available at state and divisional offices. Strictness to Prevent Cheating

271 flying squads have been formed to ensure the fairness of the examination. Vigilance committees will be active at the district level, and government officials, along with board members, will conduct surprise inspections of examination centers. Strict action will be taken against those found indulging in unfair practices.

Exam Day Guidelines

Students are advised to arrive at the examination center well in advance. It is mandatory to be present at the center by 10:30 am for the morning shift and by 2:30 pm for the afternoon shift. Hall tickets are available online through the school login. Students must carefully read and follow all instructions on the answer sheet. Students will be given an additional 10 minutes after the allotted time. Students with disabilities will be provided with the necessary facilities as per the Government Resolution of February 16, 2018.

Travel and Special Examination Arrangements

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation has been requested to make special arrangements to ensure students reach the examination center on time during the examination days. If a student is unable to appear for a practical, oral, or internal assessment exam due to medical reasons, they will be allowed to appear for the exam on March 20, 23, and 24, 2026, as a special opportunity.
