This time around, unseasonal rains in April have made life extremely difficult for people, leading to a continuous deterioration of conditions.
Heavy rains disrupted normal life in several parts of Arunachal Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, causing considerable inconvenience to the residents. In various regions—including Western Uttar Pradesh—sunshine has prevailed amidst a playful interplay of clouds since the morning. The weather is expected to remain inclement for the next three days. Chance of Rain in These States
According to the Meteorological Department, a Western Disturbance is expected to become active over Northwest India. Consequently, the weather in this region is likely to remain completely unsettled on April 7 and 8. The IMD has issued an alert for heavy rainfall in certain areas of the Kashmir Valley on April 7. Furthermore, a warning for rain accompanied by thunderstorms has been issued for Central, Eastern, and Peninsular India, valid until April 9.
Hailstorms are expected in select areas on the following dates: Western Madhya Pradesh on April 8; Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on April 7 and 8; Bihar on April 6 and 8; and Jharkhand from April 6 to 8. Additionally, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in certain pockets of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on April 8 and 9.
Delhi’s Weather Forecast
According to the Meteorological Department, an alert has been issued indicating that the skies will remain partly cloudy. The maximum daytime temperature is expected to range between approximately 33°C and 35°C, while the minimum temperature is likely to hover around 18°C to 20°C. Meanwhile, surface winds are expected to blow primarily from the west in the morning, reaching speeds of up to 10 kilometres per hour.
Weather in Punjab and Haryana
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert indicating that the weather in Punjab and Haryana is likely to remain unstable on April 7 and 8. Light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds is expected. Wind speeds in this region are likely to reach approximately 40–50 kilometres per hour. Hailstorms are forecast for certain parts of Punjab and Haryana on April 7.
Weather Outlook for UP
According to the Meteorological Department, the sudden shift in weather conditions has caused significant distress to farmers. Normal daily life also appears to be disrupted; the sudden onset of rain left people with no time to prepare or take precautions. The IMD has indicated the possibility of a new Western Disturbance becoming active on April 6. According to Dr S.N. Sunil Pandey, several robust weather systems are expected to remain active across the entire country during this period.

Weather in Bihar
According to the IMD, a ‘Yellow Alert’ has been issued for 12 districts of Bihar. Alerts have been issued specifically regarding rainfall, squalls, and lightning strikes. Wind speeds in these districts are expected to reach between 50 and 60 kilometres per hour. Additionally, a warning regarding potential hailstorms has been issued for certain areas on April 6 and 7.
