Banks will be shut in Imphal, UP, Kerala, Kolkata, Kohima, Assam, Chandigarh, Jammu, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Srinagar, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Manipur. In all other states, banks will remain open. The closure in these areas is due to Eid al-Adha, also known as Eid-ul-Azha, Bakrid, or Eid-ul-Zuha, which is a significant festival for the Muslim community. On this day, people engage in prayers and reflect on the spirit of sacrifice exemplified by Hazrat Ibrahim.
