Krishak Bandhu Yojana: Just like the central government, state governments throughout the nation also implement various programs for their citizens. In particular, for farmers and those engaged in agriculture, state governments have established several financial assistance initiatives to offer some relief amidst the difficulties of farming. In line with this, the West Bengal government has introduced the Krishak Bandhu Yojana specifically for farmers.
The aim of this initiative is to provide financial support to individuals involved in agriculture, helping them cover their farming costs. Over the years, numerous modifications have been made to this program. Recently, the state government made a crucial decision to broaden its reach. Now, many are curious about who stands to benefit from this scheme and the amount of financial aid that will be provided.
Until now, this program only assisted landowning farmers. However, the new changes represent a significant shift. Landless agricultural laborers in West Bengal, who do not possess agricultural land, will now be included in the scheme’s benefits. Those who were previously excluded from this program will now receive financial support. As per the government’s decision, these beneficiaries will be granted two payments each year. One payment will be made during the Rabi season, and the second during the Kharif season.
How much money will you receive?
Many are now inquiring about the financial assistance farmers will receive under West Bengal’s Krishak Bandhu scheme. To clarify, the first payment of the scheme will be 2,000 rupees, followed by another 2,000 rupees in the second payment. This totals to 4,000 rupees provided annually. This amount will be directly transferred to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts, ensuring a straightforward process.
How to apply for the scheme?
The application process for the Krishak Bandhu Scheme is offline. The state government periodically organizes government camps at various locations. These camps are generally known as “Duare Sarkar” or “Atmanirbhar Bangali Camps.” Interested beneficiaries can visit these camps and submit their applications.
Here, Agriculture Department officials examine the application documents. Typically, Assistant Agriculture Officers verify the application by reviewing the documents. After the verification is complete, eligible individuals are added to the scheme list. The government then transfers funds directly to their bank accounts via DBT at the agreed time.
What documents are required?
To avail of this scheme, certain required documents must be submitted. Identity and bank-related documents are verified at the time of application. Applicants are typically asked for their Aadhaar card and voter ID card. A photocopy of the first page of their bank passbook is also required to ensure the correct bank account information is entered.
The application also requires the mobile number linked to Aadhaar and the bank account. A passport-size color photograph and the applicant’s signature are also required. In the case of landless agricultural laborers, a self-declaration is also required, stating their identity as an agricultural laborer.
