SIR New Update: Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will visit every house from November 4. They will fill out the voter enumeration form with each voter. This is the most important step in the SIR process. The draft voter list will be prepared based on the information given in this form.
How to Contact Your BLO
But how will you know who your area’s BLO is? How can you contact or call them? The Election Commission has explained the full process. Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Agarwal shared in a video message, “BLOs will visit every house from November 4. They will help you with all voter list–related work.”
How to Know Your BLO
The Election Commission said that you can find your BLO’s details easily. First, go to the ECINET app or voters.eci.gov.in. Then click on the ‘Connect With Election Officials’ or ‘Book A Call With BLO’ option. After that, enter your voter ID number. The name and phone number of the BLO in your area will appear on the screen.
At present, the printing of voter enumeration forms is in progress. Along with this, BLO training has also started. The process of collecting voter information and filling out forms will continue till December 4. The draft voter list will be published on December 9. The Chief Electoral Officer’s office has said that no valid voter’s name will be left out. The Election Commission has also issued clear guidelines for BLOs, which must be followed strictly.
What If the Voter Is Not at Home?
If a voter is not found at home, BLOs have been instructed to deliver the enumeration form by putting it in the letterbox or through the door. They can verify voter details using a mobile app provided by the Election Commission through the EPIC number. Each BLO must sign every form after submitting it. The copy left with the voter will also have the BLO’s signature. BLOs may need to visit houses multiple times to collect the completed forms.
