Vande Bharat Sleeper: Good news for railway lovers. The sleeper version of Vande Bharat, which is the top travel choice in the country, is finally getting a major update. After a long wait and several delays, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has announced that this luxury sleeper train is set to launch next December. This means that travelers can soon enjoy a comfortable, speedy, and high-tech train experience.
As per report, Ashwini Vaishnav mentioned that a few minor issues were found during the testing of the first rake of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train. As a result, some adjustments were suggested for the bogies, seats, and passenger facilities. Work on these enhancements is currently moving along quickly. The Railway Minister emphasized that even though the changes are minor, they are being taken very seriously because our aim is to provide a comfortable journey for all passengers. He also noted that this train is designed to be a fantastic option for future generations, so there’s no need to rush the process.
The first rake is back at BEML
BEML, the company behind the Vande Bharat sleeper trains, has announced that the prototype rake has been sent back to them for retrofitting. This train has gone through multiple testing phases and trials, overseen by the RDSO and the Commissioner of Railway Safety. A BEML representative mentioned that since this is a prototype, it’s expected to go through thorough testing for all safety and comfort aspects. They are currently implementing all recommended changes.
New safety and comfort standards
In a letter to the RDSO, the Railway Ministry indicated that upcoming trains will incorporate several major updates, such as arc fault detection devices for enhanced fire safety, new locations for AC ducts, fire-resistant cables for CCTV, third-party audits to meet European fire and crash standards, and new placements for emergency alarm buttons. There are also upgrades being made to the train’s furnishings and overall craftsmanship.
