Driving License Update: The Transport Department in Uttar Pradesh has launched a service for vehicle owners and driving license holders that will virtually eliminate the need to visit government offices. The department has launched a dedicated WhatsApp chatbot that provides instant access to most vehicle- and license-related information. The service aims to provide fast, simple, and transparent service to the public.
How the WhatsApp chatbot works
To use the service, citizens need to save the number 8005441222 on their phone and send ‘Hi’ or ‘Namaste’ on WhatsApp. The chatbot will then respond immediately, and a menu of various services will appear on the screen. Users can access driving license status, vehicle registration details, tax payment status, fitness certificate, permit information, and many other services within seconds.

This WhatsApp chatbot will be available 24/7, allowing users to access essential vehicle-related information at any time. This will reduce congestion in government offices and save people both time and energy.
Chatbot will strengthen the Digital India Mission
This service has been developed in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India campaign. Following the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Transport Department implemented it at a rapid pace to ensure equal access to all citizens, from urban to rural areas. This will not only increase transparency in services but also reduce the interference of middlemen.
