PMMVY : The central government is implementing various programs aimed at financially supporting pregnant women and lowering childbirth expenses. One such program is the Essential Scheme, which offers financial aid to pregnant and breastfeeding women to help them access nutrition, rest, and essential health checkups throughout their pregnancy.

Millions of women have already taken advantage of this government initiative. The application process is also regarded as quite straightforward. So, today we’ll share how much the government offers to first-time mothers and the steps to apply for this scheme.

What is the Prime Minister’s Mother Vandana Scheme?

Through the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, the government extends financial support to first-time mothers. This central government initiative provides Rs 5,000 to first-time mothers, distributed in three installments. If a woman has a daughter for the second time, she receives an extra Rs 6,000, totaling Rs 11,000 for eligible women. The aim of the government is to ensure that pregnant women receive timely vaccinations, health checkups, and necessary services during childbirth. This not only enhances the health of both mother and child but also alleviates the financial strain on families.
