Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY). There is good news for women in Delhi. The benefits of this big scheme will be available soon in the state. The government is speeding up the registration process. For those women who are going to become mothers or have recently become mothers, the government is giving them financial help of Rs 5,000. For this, the central government has started the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana.

The government is running a special campaign till August 15 to reach the benefits of this scheme to as many women as possible, in which Anganwadi and Asha workers are going door to door and getting registration done. If you are eligible for this scheme, then you can apply.

What is this government scheme?
Under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), financial benefits are given to women who are going to become mothers or have recently become mothers. Under the scheme, the central government gives financial help of Rs 5000 to the woman who becomes a mother for the first time.
This benefit is available in two instalments, in which the first instalment of Rs 3000 is received as soon as the pregnancy is registered, while the second instalment of Rs 2000 is sent to the account after registering the birth of the child.
Provision has been made in the scheme to give benefits even on giving birth to a daughter for the second time. If a woman becomes pregnant for the second time and gives birth to a daughter, then she is again given Rs 6000 under this scheme. The purpose of the government in running this scheme is to promote the birth of daughters.

Eligibility for PMMVY
The government has laid down some necessary conditions to avail the benefits of the PMMVY scheme, without following which the benefit is not available.
- The age of the woman should be at least 19 years.
- The annual income of the family should be less than Rs 8 lakh.
- If you have an MNREGA card, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi benefits, e-Shram card, then you can apply.
- Those having a BPL card or a Divyang certificate are also considered eligible for this scheme.

How to apply in PMMVY?
If a woman wants to take advantage of the PMMVY scheme, then the applicant woman will have to contact their nearest Anganwadi centre or Asha worker. There, they can get registered by taking a bank passbook, an Aadhar card, a residence card or other necessary documents.
