PM Kisan Yojana Update: The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana has become a financial lifeline for millions of farmers across the country. In Rajasthan and throughout India, eligible farmers receive Rs. 6,000 annually under this scheme, which is disbursed in three equal installments directly into their bank accounts. Now, the government has made e-KYC mandatory to receive the benefits of this scheme. If e-KYC is not completed on time, the next installment may be withheld. This has caused concern among many farmers, but with the right information, the process is very simple.

The PM Kisan Yojana was launched in February 2019, although it was considered effective from December 1, 2018. The objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to small and marginal farmers for their farming and household needs. The benefits of the scheme are available only to those farmer families whose names are registered in the land records of the state or union territory. However, income taxpayers and certain other high-income groups are not eligible for this scheme. The cut-off date for landholding eligibility was set as February 1, 2019.

Under this scheme, every eligible farmer family receives Rs. 6,000 annually. This amount is transferred in three installments directly to the Aadhaar-linked bank account. Therefore, the Aadhaar, bank account, and e-KYC information must be correct so that the money reaches the right farmer on time.

E-KYC stands for Electronic Know Your Customer. It is a digital process of Aadhaar-based identity verification that does not require any paperwork. The government has made it mandatory to prevent fraudulent beneficiaries and ensure that genuine farmers receive the benefits of the scheme without delay. If farmers do not complete e-KYC, the next installment of the PM Kisan Yojana may be stopped.

Farmers whose mobile numbers are linked to their Aadhaar can complete e-KYC from home using an OTP. For this, they need to visit the official PM Kisan website and select the e-KYC option. After entering the Aadhaar number, an OTP is sent to the mobile number, and the process is completed upon entering the OTP. This method is the simplest and most time-saving.

Farmers whose mobile numbers are not linked to their Aadhaar cards can get biometric e-KYC done at their nearest Common Service Center or State Service Center. There, their identity is verified through fingerprint or iris scanning using their Aadhaar card. Farmers must carry their Aadhaar card with them for this process.

Additionally, a face authentication facility is also available through the PM Kisan mobile app. Farmers can download the app, log in, and complete their e-KYC through facial recognition. This facility is especially useful for farmers who use smartphones.

Regardless of the method used to complete the e-KYC, the status usually appears on the portal within 24 hours. Farmers can check their status on the PM Kisan website or through the Kisan Mitra AI chatbot. By completing their e-KYC on time, farmers can secure their installment payments and avoid any future problems.
