The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has clarified that India has sufficient reserves of crude oil, LPG, and LNG, and approximately two months’ supply has already been secured. The Ministry of Petroleum has stated that it cannot currently comment on future petrol, diesel, or LPG prices.
How much did the price of cylinders increase due to the war?
During the Iran-Israel war, which has been ongoing since February 28, 2026, the price of domestic cylinders has increased by a total of Rs 89. Meanwhile, commercial cylinders have increased by approximately Rs 1,373. Furthermore, the subsidy for Ujjwala beneficiaries has been reduced. Instead of nine subsidized cylinders, they will now receive only four.
Record delivery of LPG
According to data released by the government, 14 million domestic LPG cylinders were booked in the last three days, 14.9 million cylinders were delivered, and 22,340 tons of commercial LPG were sold. 191,000 5-kg LPG cylinders were sold. These figures indicate that LPG Supply in the country remains normal. PNG connections also increased rapidly. The government has appealed to people not to panic buy fuel or gas cylinders. Sharma said, “Consumers should buy petrol, diesel and LPG according to their actual needs. Ignore rumours and save energy where possible.”
Today’s rate of LPG cylinder
According to the latest data from Indian Oil, a 14.2 kg domestic cylinder costs Rs 941.50 in Mumbai. Its price is Rs 944.50 in Bengaluru, Rs 949 in Ahmedabad and Gurugram, Rs 952.50 in Jaipur and Rs 956 in Goa. A domestic cylinder is available for Rs 957.50 in Chennai, Rs 961 in Dehradun, Rs 968 in Kolkata and Rs 976.50 in Lucknow. Meanwhile, the price of a domestic gas cylinder in Hyderabad has reached Rs 994.
