IndiGo has temporarily suspended flight services in these routes, Check today

: There is a major setback for air travellers. IndiGo cancelled so many flights. Yes You’ve heard it right. IndiGo, has decided to temporarily suspend flights to six international destinations. The company stated that this move was due to low demand and rising operating costs. This list also includes popular Chinese cities like Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Check the routes

As per IndiGo, flights to well-known tourist spots like Langkawi in Malaysia, Krabi in Thailand, Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, as well as Hong Kong and Shanghai in China, will be temporarily halted starting July 1, 2026. Additionally, flights to Siem Reap, a favored tourist location in Cambodia, will be suspended from July 3 to September 30, 2026.

Official announcement from the airline

In an official announcement, the airline mentioned that passenger traffic on these routes tends to be relatively low from July to September each year. Moreover, increasing international fuel prices, operational costs, and various business challenges have made it tough for the airline to keep these flights running. Hence, this decision has been made to align demand with costs.

Plans to restart bookings

Nonetheless, IndiGo has offered reassurance to passengers by indicating that this suspension is not a permanent measure. The airline intends to reopen bookings for all these routes starting October 1, 2026, provided that conditions improve. Additionally, if market conditions and passenger demand exceed expectations, services may be reinstated sooner than planned.

IndiGo also emphasized that this decision will not significantly affect its vast international network. The airline currently operates over 1,800 international flights weekly, linking India to numerous major cities worldwide. The company noted that this network adjustment is part of its long-term strategy to optimize the use of available aircraft and resources. Experts believe that airlines periodically adjust their network based on demand and costs. Temporarily shutting down routes with low passenger traffic during lean seasons is a common business strategy. This allows airlines to control their expenses and focus on more profitable routes.
