LPG Subsidy ALERT: Important news has emerged for LPG gas consumers. If you are a beneficiary of the LPG subsidy provided by the government, please note that the deadline to complete your eKYC is June 30, 2026. Consumers who have not yet completed the eKYC for their gas connections will no longer receive subsidy payments in their bank accounts from the government after June 30, 2026.
Therefore, it is crucial to complete this task well in advance. The primary objective behind this government initiative is to curb fraudulent gas connections. Please be informed that whether you are a beneficiary of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana or a standard domestic gas consumer, if your eKYC remains incomplete, the subsidy payments to your bank account will cease starting July 1.
Who will not receive the subsidy?
Customers whose gas accounts are not linked with their Aadhaar numbers will not receive the subsidy. A window to complete the eKYC process has been provided until June 30. Anyone whose eKYC remains incomplete will be ineligible to receive the subsidy.
How to complete the eKYC process?
To perform the eKYC, you must first access the specific gas service application—such as ‘IndianOil One’ or ‘HP Pay’—on your mobile phone. Once you have successfully logged into the app, click on the ‘Re-KYC’ option. Next, use your phone’s camera to scan your face. Upon doing so, UIDAI will verify your facial biometrics and instantly complete your eKYC, eliminating the need for paperwork or bureaucratic hassles.
How to perform eKYC using the UMANG App:
First, open the UMANG app.
Now, navigate to the ‘Gas Services’ section and select the ‘eKYC’ option.
Then, log in using your mobile number and MPIN.
Complete the eKYC process by following the simple steps displayed on the screen.
If you encounter any difficulties completing the eKYC online, you may visit your nearest gas distributor or gas agency for assistance. Please ensure you have your Aadhaar card, gas connection passbook, and mobile phone with you when you visit. Here, an employee will take your fingerprint, and e-KYC will be completed instantly.
