Meanwhile, the prices of commercial gas cylinders in India continue to rise steadily. With the cost of the 5-kilogram Gas cylinder also skyrocketing, customers’ household budgets have been thrown into disarray. According to the Indian oil company’s website, customers can avail of the home delivery service for refills of the ‘Chhotu’ gas cylinder through designated Points of Sale. For this service, customers will be required to pay an additional delivery fee of ₹25 per refill. Customers can purchase the Chhotu cylinder from any authorised Indane Gas distributor, Indian Oil retail outlet, or select grocery stores and supermarkets.
Refilling of the cylinder can also be done at any authorised Point of Sale or distributor across the country. The most significant feature of this service is that no proof of address is required to obtain the cylinder.
A connection can be obtained simply by providing a valid identity card. Furthermore, if a customer purchases a cylinder from a Point of Sale and subsequently wishes to return it, the company refunds a fixed amount of ₹500 per cylinder—regardless of how long the cylinder was used.
How much has the 5-kilogram cylinder become more expensive?
On June 1, 2026, the prices of the 5-kilogram ‘Chhotu’ cylinder were hiked alongside those of commercial LPG cylinders. Indian petroleum companies increased the price of the small 5-kilogram gas cylinder by ₹11. Following this revision, the price of the 5-kilogram cylinder rose to ₹821.50. Additionally, the price of a 19-kilogram commercial LPG cylinder has risen by 42 rupees, reaching ₹3,113.50 in Delhi. Previously, this price stood at ₹3,071.50. Before this, on May 1st, a massive hike of ₹993 was implemented in the price of commercial cylinders.
No changes have been made to the price of the 14.2-kilogram domestic cooking gas cylinder. The last price hike recorded for this category was an increase of ₹60 in March 2026.
