Ladki Bahin Yojana Update: CM Announces Rs 1500 Instead of Rs 3000

Ladki Bahin Yojana: The Maharashtra government’s Ladki Bahin Yojana is always making headlines. This initiative has been a game changer for the ruling party. Meanwhile, the state government was gearing up to release the advance payment for December and January in January. However, the State Election Commission has put a hold on this advance payment.

State CM Devendra Fadnavis has commented on the situation. While speaking to reporters in Pune, Maharashtra, Fadnavis mentioned that his government will not be releasing the January advance payment under the ‘Ladki Bahin Yojana’ for eligible women, in accordance with the directive from the State Election Commission (SEC).

In his remarks to reporters in Pune, CM Devendra Fadnavis stated that up until now, under the “Ladki Behen Yojana,” poor women received advance payments during major festivals, but the monthly allowance (Rs1,500) from this scheme will now be credited to their accounts after January 16. The counting of votes for the state’s 29 municipal corporations is scheduled for January 16.

The Election Commission has prohibited advance payments. The Election Commission has instructed that the existing and regular benefits of the scheme will continue, but ‘advance payments’ will not be allowed during the code of conduct. The Election Commission received multiple complaints regarding this issue. Municipal elections are set to take place in the state on January 15th. Previously, on January 14th, the government was ready to process advance payments for December and January into the accounts of the sisters under the Ladki Behen Yojana. The Election Commission has intervened to stop this.
