Do you also believe everything which is viral on social media? Then this article is for you. Today we discuss how would you stay beware from any investment scam matter. The Government also warned everyone. A video recently went viral on social media purportedly showing Prime Minister Narendra Modi promoting an investment platform. The video claims that an initial investment of just Rs 22,000 can earn up to Rs 3.5 lakh per month. Is it true?
However, the PIB’s fact-checking unit has dismissed this claim as completely false. In a statement released on the social media platform X, PIB Fact Check stated that the video circulating on Facebook is fake and created using artificial intelligence (AI). PIB clarified that the Indian government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have not endorsed any such investment platform or scheme.
Deepfake technology is becoming a major challenge
This case highlights the growing misuse of deepfake technology. Deepfakes use artificial intelligence (AI) to create a person’s image, video, or voice to appear realistic. This viral video also used old video footage of the Prime Minister, and his voice and presentation were altered using AI technology to make it appear as if he were promoting an investment scheme. The purpose of such fake videos is to mislead people by gaining their trust and causing financial loss.
