Ration Card: Big news for Ration Card holders. Under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), the government provides cheap or free rations to millions of people . To ensure this benefit reaches the right beneficiaries , changes are made to the rules from time to time . In this regard , the government has made an important update.
It will now be mandatory for every ration card holder to complete e-KYC once every five years. Many families last completed Aadhaar-linked verification around 2013. Now, after so many years, it has become necessary to update the database again . Fortunately, this process is now completely digital and can be completed via mobile in a few minutes.
How to do Ration Card e-KYC sitting at home ?
The government has made two apps available, ‘ Mera Ration’ and ‘ Aadhaar Face RD’ , to simplify e -KYC . The process is as follows :
1. First of all install both the apps in your mobile.
2. Open the Mera Ration app and enter your location .
3. Now enter your Aadhaar number, fill the captcha and complete the verification through OTP .
4. After this, your Aadhaar related information will appear on the screen .
5. Now select Face e-KYC option.
6. Scan your face as soon as the camera opens.
7. On submission, e-KYC will be completed in a few seconds.
How to know whether e-KYC was successful or not?
If you want to check whether the process was successful or not , login to the app again .
Enter the location and Aadhaar number.
After entering the OTP , your status will be visible on the screen .
Status: If Y is displayed then your e-KYC is successful.
If Status: N is displayed , it means your verification is not complete yet.
