Free LPG Cylinder Announced for Holi, Check Eligibility and How to Apply

Free LPG Cylinder: The Delhi government has presented a wonderful gift to the public in celebration of Holi. This initiative, aimed at providing free LPG cylinders to 15.48 lakh underprivileged families, has been launched in Delhi for both Holi and Diwali festivities. President Draupadi Murmu has officially inaugurated this program. A subsidy of Rs 853 has been credited to the accounts of 15.48 lakh individuals in honor of Holi. The state government, led by CM Rekha Gupta, has transferred Rs 129 crore through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). This initiative was approved by the cabinet before its launch.

Instead of delivering free cylinders to homes, the government will directly deposit Rs 853 into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts. This approach allows individuals to refill their cylinders as needed. A budget of around Rs 242 crore has been allocated for this program. It is anticipated that approximately 1.75 million families holding ration cards in the capital will benefit from this scheme. Additionally, households with pipeline gas connections will also receive a payment of Rs 853.

Who is excluded from the benefits in Delhi?

In Delhi, only families possessing valid ration cards will be eligible for the government’s free cylinder scheme during Holi. In Uttar Pradesh, only families enrolled in the Ujjwala Yojana will qualify for free refills. Taxpayers, government employees, and retired government personnel will not be included in this scheme. Moreover, it is essential to link your bank account with Aadhaar to avail of the benefits.

Who received the Rs 853?

In Delhi, 15.48 lakh individuals received Rs 853, which is the cost of a cylinder, as financial support for Holi. This amount was credited to those who hold ration cards. If your ration card remains valid, the funds should have been deposited into your account.

These schemes were started in Delhi

A special event, “Empowered Women, Prosperous Delhi,” was held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. Several schemes were launched during the event. The “Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana,” an extension of the Ladli Yojana, was launched in Delhi. The Saheli Pink Smart Card was also launched. Funds were also transferred under the “Meri Punji Mera Adhikar” scheme.

Ladli Scheme of Delhi Government

Under the Ladli Yojana , approximately 100 crore rupees will be given to more than 40 thousand beneficiaries. This scheme was started by the former Chief Minister of Delhi, Sheila Dikshit. Under this scheme, the Delhi government used to give 50 thousand rupees to the girls of Delhi registered. However, during the Aam Aadmi Party government, the benefit of the Ladli Yojana was not available. Today, 100 crore rupees will be transferred to the accounts of more than 40 thousand beneficiaries of this scheme. The money of the Ladli Yojana will be given under the Central Government’s scheme ‘Meri Punji Mera Adhikar’.
