Diwali Gift for Government Employees: Uttarakhand CM Dhami Announces 3% DA Hike, Big Relief for Pensioners

Just before the grand festival of Diwali, lakhs of government employees and pensioners in Uttarakhand have received tremendous good news. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved a 3% increase in the dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) of state employees.

This increased amount will be credited to their accounts in November along with their October salaries. According to an official statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), this increase in dearness allowance and relief will be effective from July 1, 2025. This increased amount will be paid in November, along with the employees’ October salaries. This means that the arrears from July to October are also likely to be paid along with this.

This significant decision will not only apply to state government employees, but will also directly benefit employees and pensioners of local bodies and state public sector undertakings. This government decision will not only strengthen the financial position of employees but will also boost market activity during the festive season.

Bumper Gifts Before Diwali in Other States

This good news is not limited to Uttarakhand. Several states across the country have given their employees the wonderful gift of a DA increase ahead of Diwali. In Uttar Pradesh (UP), Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a DA increase on October 17, increasing the dearness allowance from 55% to 58%. Chief Minister Yogi said that this decision will bring satisfaction, security, and prosperity to the lives of employees and pensioners.

On October 16th, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi also announced a 3% DA hike, taking the DA there from 55% to 58%. The Karnataka government increased its DA by 2% to 14.25% on October 15th. Several other states, including Gujarat, Bihar, Jharkhand, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh, have also announced bonuses and DA hikes for their employees.

These decisions, announced before Diwali, have brought smiles to the faces of millions of government employees across the country. This increased DA will not only provide relief to employees’ pockets but will also boost economic momentum.
