Bank Holiday: Tomorrow marks the start of December. On Monday, December 1st, banks will be shut down for the day. Many states across the country will see their bank branches closed. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has revealed that there will be a total of 13 bank holidays in December 2025. These holidays are based on various festivals, local happenings, and memorial days specific to each state. This is the reason the RBI has announced a bank holiday for tomorrow, December 1st.
Banks will be closed on Monday, December 1
On December 1st, banks will not operate in Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland. Both states celebrate State Inauguration Day and Indigenous Faith Day on this date. December 1st holds significant importance for these states. Because of Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland’s foundation day, both government offices and banks will be closed.

December 30 – Banks will remain closed in Meghalaya on the death anniversary of U Kiang Nangbah
December 31 – New Year’s Eve/Imoinu Iratpa holiday in Mizoram and Manipur.
