New Delhi: The central government can make a big announcement for central employees and pensioners any day these days, which will prove to be like a gift. But before this, the central employees have made a shocking demand. Although this is a very old demand of central employees and pensioners, it can now be approved. The employees demand that the period of commutation be reduced from 15 years to 12 years.

Commutation means that a part of the pension is taken at once. After this, the pension is less. For this, the employees argue that the government collects this money along with interest. Still, the period for deducting pension has been fixed for 15 years. Therefore, it would be considered appropriate to make it 12 years.

It will be discussed in the 8th Pay Commission.n

This issue of employees and pensioners has now again been included in the discussion of the 8th Pay Commission. Along with this, the employee organisations are working to raise this demand loudly before the terms of reference of the commission are decided. If this suggestion of the employee organisation is accepted, then retired employees are expected to start getting the benefit of their full pension soon.

This will also provide them with financial relief. You must be wondering what pension commutation is. Central employees can choose a one-time option of up to 40 per cent of their pension. This is called pension commutation.

In return, that percentage is also reduced in their monthly pension. But according to the current rules, this reduced pension is restored after 15 years. At the same time, the 5th Pay Commission allowed employees to commute from one-third to 40 per cent of their pension.

When can the 8th Pay Commission be implemented?d

The question arising in everyone’s mind is when the 8th Pay Commission will be implemented. So far, the government has not even formed a team for the 8th Pay Commission. According to this, it seems that it may take a long time for it to be implemented. It is being speculated that the government will implement the 8th Pay Commission by January 1, 2028. If this happens, it will take a long time.
