Amrit Bharat Express: Good news for passengers. Indian Railways has presented a wonderful gift to its passengers. Two new Amrit Bharat Express trains are set to launch, enhancing the connectivity between Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. Notably, these trains will feature modern amenities akin to the Vande Bharat Express, yet the fares will remain budget-friendly for everyday travelers.
As per the railway’s announcement, the new Amrit Bharat Express services will run between Varanasi-Hadapsar (Pune) and Ayodhya Cantt-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (Mumbai). The launch of these trains is expected to directly benefit millions of passengers commuting between Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
Banaras-Hadapsar Amrit Bharat Express Route and Timing (Pune-Banaras New Train)
Shashikant Tripathi, the Chief Public Relations Officer of North Central Railway (NCR), has stated that the inaugural journey of the Banaras-Hadapsar Amrit Bharat Express (02531) is scheduled for April 28, 2026. The train will leave Banaras at 4:45 pm.
This train will consist of 22 coaches, which include 8 sleeper class, 11 general coaches, 2 SLR coaches, and 1 pantry car.
Throughout the journey, the train will make stops at 18 key stations, such as Gyanpur Road, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Govindpuri, Orai, Veerangna Laxmibai Jhansi, Bina, Rani Kamlapati, Narmadapuram, Itarsi, Harda, Khandwa, Bhusaval, Jalgaon, Manmad, Koparagaon, Ahilyanagar, and Daund chord line stations.
Ayodhya-LTT Amrit Bharat Express Route and Timing (LTT-Ayodhya New Train)
The railways have also announced the launch of a new Amrit Bharat Express (22111/22112) connecting Ayodhya Cantt and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (Mumbai). This service will also commence on April 28, 2026, departing from Ayodhya Dham station.
This train will similarly leave Ayodhya at 4:45 pm and will feature 22 coaches, including 8 sleeper class coaches, 11 general coaches, 2 SLR coaches, and 1 pantry car. The train will halt at a total of 12 stations. The Amrit Bharat Express has been specifically designed for low- and lower-middle-income travelers. It will offer modern amenities, yet maintain affordable fares, allowing as many people as possible to benefit from it.
The launch of these two trains will provide direct and convenient travel options for passengers traveling from Uttar Pradesh to Mumbai and Pune. These trains are especially important given the high passenger traffic during festivals and holidays.
