Budget 2026 – Discussions have begun regarding the presentation of the financial budgets for 2026 and 2027. This time too, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is expected to present the budget on February 1st. Government employees, taxpayers, and farmers all have high expectations for the budget.
Farmers are hoping that the amount under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme will be increased to Rs. 10,000. This would benefit approximately 12 crore farmers. While there is no official confirmation of an increase in the instalment amount yet, media reports are making such claims.

What will the ininstalmentmount be?
If the central government increases the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme amount to Rs. 10,000 in the general budget, it would be a great boon for farmers. This means an increase of up to Rs. 4,000 in the scheme. The amount of each insinstalmentuld also increase. The increased amount would be disbursed in three instalments.
The first and second instainstalmentsd be Rs. 3,000 each, while the fourth instalinstalment be up to Rs. 4,000. The gap between each instalment would be four months. This would increase the burden on the central government’s financial resources. According to the Ministry of Agriculture’s report, approximately 12 crore farmers are registered under this scheme. The benefits are given to those who comply with all the rules.

When will the budget be presented?
If the long-standing tradition is followed, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget on February 1, 2026. However, this time there’s a complication: February 1st falls on a Sunday. Due to the weekly holiday, the budget date might be changed. Whether the date will be changed or not will become clear by January 20th.

Farmers associated with the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme are eagerly awaiting the next iinstalment The next ininstalments expected to be credited to their accounts in the first week of March. This will be the 22nd instalment so far, the government has released 21 iinstalments 2,000 each. The government has been providing Rs 6,000 every year in three instainstalmentss 2,000 each.
